Skanska is investing 90 million euros in an office project in Helsinki, Finland. The 14-story building, named Firdo, will offer around 15,000 square meters of adaptable and modern office space. The construction contract, valued at 55 million euros, will be included in Skanska’s order intake for the Nordic region for the fourth quarter of 2024.

The office building will be located in Pasila, a vibrant area of Helsinki with excellent amenities and public transport connections. The building will feature a range of facilities, including conference and lounge areas, a restaurant, a gym, and indoor bike parking.

Firdo aims to achieve WELL and LEED Platinum certification. The building will be heated and cooled using geothermal energy, and significant attention will be given to reducing the carbon footprint during material procurement.

Skanska Finland has signed a thirteen-year lease for a new headquarters in Firdo, covering approximately 5,500 square meters, which represents around 37 percent of the building. The new headquarters is expected to be ready for occupancy in the second quarter of 2027.

The construction is planned to begin in January 2025, with completion scheduled for the second quarter of 2027. Additionally, the area will include not only office and retail spaces but also residential units, enhancing the urban environment.
